The 6 Albanian viewpoints actually worth the drive
Not every hairpin road ends in a view. These six do.

Albania is a small country with an unreasonable amount of vertical relief, which means viewpoints everywhere. These are the ones we'd plan a day around.
1. Llogara Pass
The Riviera reveals itself in one bend at 1,000m.

The road from Vlorë climbs through pine forest and then simply drops away, with the whole Ionian coast beneath you. It's the most famous view in Albania for good reason.
Tip: Late afternoon light, and stop at the platform rather than shooting from the car.

All of Tirana laid out below a pine ridge.

Cable car up, sunset over the plain, dinner on the ridge. Hard to beat for effort.
3. Lëkurësi Castle, Sarandë
Castle walls over the bay, with Corfu on the horizon.
A short drive above the town gets you the entire bay, the Ionian and Corfu in one frame. Best at sunset, which everyone else also knows.
4. Berat Castle walls
A thousand windows stacked below you.

From inside the inhabited castle quarter, the Mangalem and Gorica districts fall away on either side of the Osum. Go early before the light flattens.
5. Theth
The lock-in tower, the church and the Accursed Mountains behind them.

The classic Albanian Alps frame. Morning mist in the valley makes it, and the drive in is now paved most of the way.
6. Zvernec footbridge
A wooden line across a still lagoon.

Not a summit view — a composition. Golden hour, flat water, pines at the far end.
Frequently asked questions
Can you fly a drone in Albania?
Recreational drone use is common but rules apply near airports, borders and some heritage sites. Check current national aviation guidance before flying, and never fly over crowds.
