Road works and transport changes (2027-06-01 to 2027-06-07)

Kashar–Rrogozhinë highway construction (confirmed)
The Blue Corridor Kashar–Rrogozhinë highway started on a 24-month contract in late 2026, so expect work zones and possible diversions around Kashar and Vaqarr throughout 2027. Specific closure dates are announced by ARRSH shortly before.

Elbasan–Qafë Thanë and Elbasan–Rrogozhinë completion works (confirmed)
Both Corridor VIII roads are scheduled for completion in 2027. Expect lane shifts and slower sections on the routes to Lake Ohrid/North Macedonia and between Elbasan and the coast until they open.

Festivals, events and public holidays

UNUM Festival, Shëngjin (expected)
UNUM Festival at Rana e Hedhun beach near Shëngjin is expected in early June 2027; the organisers confirm exact dates on their site. Accommodation around Shëngjin and Lezhë fills fast once dates drop.
- 2027 · 2–9 Jun
Kala Festival, Dhërmi (confirmed)
Kala Festival returns to Dhërmi on 2–9 June 2027. The Riviera's biggest music week: accommodation in Dhërmi and nearby villages sells out months ahead, and the SH8 coast road and Llogara tunnel see heavy traffic.
What usually happens in June
- Beach clubs, boat trips and ferries at full service. Sarandë–Corfu crossings and Ksamil boat operators run their high-season timetables from early summer, with extra sailings added as demand rises.
- Riviera traffic builds. The SH8 coast road and the Llogara tunnel get heavy weekend traffic from June. Allow much longer than a map estimate.
