Sarandë & Ksamil in July: Peak Summer Beach Guide

July is full summer on the southern Riviera: hot sun, warm sea and busy beaches. Sarandë's promenade stays lively late into the night and Ksamil's islands are at their most photographed.

Weather

Days are hot and dry with long sunny hours; Tirana averages about 32°C at the hottest point of summer and the coast is similar, softened by sea breezes. Bring sun protection and plan shade at midday.

Crowds and beaches

This is peak season. Arrive at Ksamil beaches early for sunbeds, or rent a boat to reach quieter coves. Book accommodation well ahead. See our Ksamil boat trips guide.

Things to do

Visit Butrint National Park in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat, swim at the Blue Eye when water levels allow, and take a day ferry to Corfu — see Saranda–Corfu ferry.

Getting there

Traffic on the coastal road is heavy in July. Allow extra time on the Llogara Pass and the Sarandë–Ksamil road.
