Seasons of Albania
Spring is Albania's best-value season. Temperatures climb from 16°C in March to 24°C in May, the countryside is green, canyons run full, historic towns are empty and the sea becomes swimmable in late May. Prices stay well below summer throughout.
Summer is beach season: 29–32°C days, a sea between 23°C and 26°C, and virtually no rain. June offers the best balance of warm water and space, July brings festivals and crowds, and August is the hottest, busiest and most expensive month of the year.
Autumn starts as an extension of summer and ends in the rainiest weeks of the year. September keeps a 24°C sea with far fewer people, October is the best city-break month at 22–23°C, and November turns wet, cheap and culture-focused.
Winter splits Albania in two. Coastal cities stay mild at 11–14°C and fully open, while the northern Alps sit under deep snow. It is the cheapest season, ideal for Tirana, Shkodër, Berat and Korçë — and the wrong season for beaches or high-mountain hiking.
